Why owners become the bottleneck
If everything needs you, the business cannot grow beyond your calendar — or run without you.
Most owners become the bottleneck by accident. You were the best person to do the work, so you did it. Then you were the fastest person to answer the question, so you answered it. Eventually every thread runs through you.
The test is simple: if you were away for two weeks with no phone, what stops? Whatever is on that list is where the business depends on you personally rather than on how it works.
Delegation on its own does not solve it. Handing over a task without handing over the judgement behind it just sends the question back to you in a different form.
What works is writing down the decision rules — what good looks like, what the limits are, when to escalate — and then letting people be wrong occasionally within those limits.
